David E. Smith, a PGA Director and Treasurer, directly manages client relationships. He earned a B.S. in Public Accounting from Husson College in 1981.
Prior to joining PGA in 2020, David was a Partner at Marcum LLP (and Dawson, Smith, Purvis & Bassett, P.A. which merged into Marcum LLP in 2019) in Portland, ME from 1990-2020 and provided tax and financial planning and tax compliance services to high net worth individuals, privately owned businesses, and medical and other professional service practices. From 1981-1990, he was an Accountant at Ernst & Young in Portland, ME.
David is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Director of the Gulf of Maine Research Institute.
